Since 2017, Top Dutch Solar Racing has been striving to accelerate the energy transition and contribute to a sustainable future.
We are a multidisciplinary team from the north of the Netherlands, connected to the University of Groningen, Hanze University of Applied Sciences and Noorderpoort College. Our team consists of 21 motivated students from different fields of expertise, creating a unique mix of people, knowledge and skills.
Have you been following our journey during the last months and wished you could join Top Dutch Solar Racing yourself? Then this is your chance! We are looking for mechanics who are just as driven as the rest of the team to build the second TDSR solar car. We might not be racing in Australia this year, but that doesn't stop us from thriving for engineering and innovation excellence.
So what would your tasks as a mechanical engineer be?
Mechanics generally includes both the aerodynamic design and all other mechanical systems of the car. Within this team you will work with complex components such as the motor, the steering system and the suspension. The aerodynamic design of the new car is already complete, so you will be joining the team during the final steps of the design phase and then continue with the actual production of the car. Finally, our car needs to be tested thoroughly to make sure everything works properly. In order to complete our solar car, you will work closely with the other mechanics and software engineers. We are one big solar family so you will feel at home at our office in no time!
- Technically skilled
- A go-getter
- A problem solver
- Someone with a hands-on mentality

Do you have a passion for mechanics? Are you a real go-getter and don't mind working hard? Do you want to help build the second solar car from the Northern Netherlands? Then you are a good fit in our mechanics team!
